TWD Pulling Truck

 

The two-wheel drive (2WD) division was introduced in 1983.

 

The division imposes a weight-limit of 6,200 pounds on each competing truck, a maximum width of eight feet, and a maximum distance of 15 feet from the centerline of the rear axle to the front of the vehicle (including weight racks and tow hook). (The length restriction allows for up to ten inches of cosmetic fiberglass, however.) Any wheelbase is permitted. Any factory production body truck or van is allowed, including passenger-type bodies.Funny car-type body and/or fiberglass body must have escape hatch or doors in top or back of body. Vehicle body style must be or have been available from a dealer as mass produced.

 

 

Vehicles are limited to a single automotive-type engine. They are restricted to 575 Cubic In, two valves per cylinder and one spark plug per cylinder. Automobile engine is any engine or its replica available in a passenger car. Maximum (8) cylinders. They are limieted to 1 14-71 SUper Charger or single stage Turbo chargers. Only one operating ignition system allowed as well. No electronic timing delay devices permitted.

 

The maximum tire size for the 2WD class is 18.4 x 16.1, with a maximum circumference of 143 inches when mounted on an 18-inch-wide rim and inflated to 28 psi. The ground patch is not to exceed 19 inches on original tread.
